None. It's one of the best mods I've done on my car. Easy, fast, and you don't have to do it again, ever.
Well I'm sold.
Honestly, I hesitate to post this fix because I get a lot of flack about it.
I know that feeling. They've hated me in the C5 tech section ever since I told them I put dino lube in my transmission. Oh I'm sorry, that's what GM USED AT THE FREAKING FACTORY YOU DAMNED SNOBS.

DINO LUBE!!!!!! You're gonna burn in hell for that one.
Just call Flaming River and they'll set you up with the right part no. I got the number from them and ordered through Summit. I dropped the steering box to do the install because I didn't want to mess around with the column. I understand that you can comperss the column and then pull it back but I'm not that brave.
One other thing, after you install the joint, adjust your steering box to tighten things up. You'll be amazed at the difference.
Crap i wish i would of seen this or known about it before i dropped $75.00 on a rag joint. Now the motor is in the car and it will be a paint to change? Plus i still have some binding issues with the rag joint, so i may have to tear a bunch of stuff out to replace it with the FR solid joint.
Does that part number fit all corvettes? and how hard was it to install. Did you have to remove the steering box?
Nope. C2's with the fixed length column use a vibration resistant u-joint, Flaming River part#FR 1882. This is for 3/4x36 on the manual box end and 3/4x30 on the shaft end.
