I have an 80 with L-82 engine and around 101k miles. I was looking to replace the carb and intake and wondered if this kit would work? If it does is there anything else I would need need to install this? Thanks
the kit would work and it seems to come with the gaskets, but why did you pick this one? The carb seems to be smaller than the quadrajet that came from the factory.
I installed something similar on my 1980. If you have cruise etc there is some mods you need to do, and an extra bracket. Plus your aircleaner will not work and you need to be careful to get it all under the hood. You will need a drop base for the eddy carb with a 3" filter and a flat top.

I do have cruise. Where can I find the parts you listed? Thanks for the input. How does your setup run?

Why in the world would you want to replace a sophisticated, high performance 750 cfm carb with an old, outdated, obsolete, 45-year-old 600 cfm Carter AFB that GM deemed "obsolete" in 1966? The Q-Jet will outperforn a 600 cfm AFB by 20 hp on a bad day. Swap your intake manifold with a good manifold and keep the good carb, unless your car has too much power and you need to downgrade it a little.

This is why I like this forum. I figured it was an upgrade I'm glad to know it's not before I bought it. What would be a good intake to purchase then?
Unless you have an actual LT1, the Edelbrock intake is an upgrade way better than most factory intakes. The carb is a matter of personal preference. The Qj is a very easy reliable carb and all your linkage hooks back up. You just need to buy the 2101 intake to accept the QJ carb you have.
It looks like you're saying I should be focusing on exhaust and not intake. I have a limited budget but what would you recommend I do as far as getting a true dual exhaust? It sounds like removing the Cat is also beneficial, since I have no emissions.
