Default 78 odometer problem- help

Hello,

I was wondering if some one could help me solve a problem I am having with my odometer. The speedometer works just fine, but neither the trip nor regular (total miles) odometer does not. You can reset the trip to zero and drivr the car and the trip meter will not register anything, but the toltal miles odometer will record a 1/10 or two and then stop.

I would imagine the speedometer is going to have to come out, but how does it come out? Does the entire cluster have to come out (along with the steering wheel) or can you remove it after simply removing the cover and bezel?

Also, is this what I need to fix it from Dr rebuild:

Odometer Assembly with Numbered Drum, Gear
& Shaft these displays your Total Accumulated Mileage
80-82 Odometer NOS 9748109 37.50

Also, how easy is it to install and set to my mileage?

Thanks,
Dan

If it does have to come out it is not that big a deal... you will have to take out the 2 bolts that hold the colunm up ... this will drop the colunm down enough. then it is just unscrewing the plastic cover and think there is 3 screws that hold the speedo in... then reaching up under the dash and push clip that holds speedo cable in and pull back on cable
