I'm in here on occasion and providing comment to people needing correct tech info on a few subjects. I'm always willing to assist people needing help and who are willing to listen, learn, and ask questions.

On that note, I'm also not putting up with idiots any longer. I fully intend to call the guys who are technical incompetents shooting their mouths off with bad and technically wrong advice (yes, there are a few of those here). These idiots have managed to chase away a large number of very good technical people from this Forum, leaving only a small hard-core technical group left. Nobody needs to put up with that, and I'm not going to have those people giving bad advice to people who need correct information. The BS'ers are going to get a BS flag thrown from me without hesitation.

As always, people needing technical assistance can also e-mail me directly for comment if you prefer to not use the public forum:

How about bringing the "tuning for beers" tour north of the border Lars?

We have lots of respect for experts up here and the beer's pretty good to.

I applaud you for your approach, and it's good to have you back, Lars. I'm technically incompetent when it comes to Quadrajets, but one of my goals for this year is to rebuild one for my Pontiac 455. Hopefully, I can be a quick study.

Lars
Lars,

I for one am glad to have had the benefit of all the advice you gave me a few years back when I set up my Rochester carb per your directions. What a great carb! I really like the APT on it (it's a JET 800 CFM Stage 2 that was used on the later cars) along with the K&N air-fuel meter that I used to set a/f ratio. Now I have the top of the engine torn down and the heads are going in for a rebuild - new cam too of course! It should be fun to dial it all in once I bolt it all up in a couple weeks or so. Stay with us, we sure appreciate your advice!

Lars
Lars,

What type of finish is considered "FACTORY" for a restored Q-JET . Is there anyone or companies that can actually still applly the correct ROCHESTER GM finish on the carb body?

I want to have the best factory finish on my 7044221 as it needs a complete restoration .

Thanks for any info

your input is so invaluable. I don't mean to sound corny, but I already spend hours reading what you have already sent me.
