Awesome! All you can do is post what you know and leave it up to the reader to decide who's right. That's not always easy on the internet but in the case of you Lars it IS easy. I cringe when someone wastes your time and ours debating some technical issue. Take note newbies.

Looking forward to firing up my '72 with a Tuned by Lars carb and dist. in it tomorrow. Maybe I'll actually start posting in C3 again.

Been there done that. Almost got booted argueing with idiots. I know a little about everything and a lot about some things and try to help when I can.
Distributor and carb rebuilding, setup and advice is best left to you!
Just sent off the 58 230 HP corvette distributor for you to do your magic to.

Hi

Great to see you back on this forum, Lars. You where never completely lost as you could be found on other forums, but still great to see you here again.

And I prefer getting a bull**** flag from you if I am on the wrong track rather than being left alone wrong . So don't hesitate.

Yes, it is a sham that many good Corvette people have been chased away. I'm not always the most competent but willing to listen and learn and have loved Corvettes all my life. You and a few others like Jim Shea, Motorhead and more just name a few are very valuable in the maintenance of Corvettes and engine building. I do find it hard at times to ignore the Jack A$$e$ who argue just to argue and claim that something that you know has worked does not work. The same people seem to focus on a few just to satisfy their need to cause problems. I don’t blame you in the way you have felt. I find my self just reading through many of the post and not responding just to avoid the conflict.

The group needs your knowledge and experience.

Lars:

I know what you mean about idiots. On another forum, a horse's butt, allegedly an engineer with a BS, Masters, and working on his PhD, all at the age of 23, told me that using 35* total timing would cause my engine to self distruct. When I called him on it, he shrank into the woodwork. He is still on that forum, handing out bad advice. When the more knowledge members call him on something, he doesn't respond.

It bothers me that wanna be jerks like this may lead newer, less experienced people, into trouble. Sort of like my, thankfully, long gone 'buddy', DB.

Throw the flag when you have to. Everyone will benefit, except the unreasonable idiot.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Much appreciated.

On a similar note, I know that there are a lot of people out there who hesitate to throw their questions out in a public forum. For those wanting a one-on-one tech interchange I'm always available on e-mail at
V8FastCars@msn.com

Nice to see Jim Shea recognized above - Jim and Cindy were just by the workshop and bar last night - they drove out from Michigan to say hello, have a few drinks in the workshop bar, fire up the test engine, and have some dinner. Always great having technical authorities stop by!

That's very generous of you Lars. The information and advise you provide is "priceless".

As the old master said, "Nothing like the sweet smell of gasoline, exhaust fumes, and a stiff belt to make an evening." Thanks for the hospitality.

Thanks Lars. I've followed lots of your advice in the past and it's always worked out rather well for me. I've also saved some of your tech papers on my hard drive for easy reference. Most of us realize the valuable resources we have on this forum but there are always folks who want to show off and act like they know something even if they don't. I just don't understand that........ It takes all kinds I guess. Anyway, thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience on this forum.
