Under the hood light doesn't work.

From drivers side, look straight down for a T shaped junction in the plastic covering. This covering is running along the plastic fender liner.
Your connection is pluged in here. look for a large red wire, and a small black one. Check for power here. My 80 is my reference, should be the same. Good luck

It plugs in where the wires come out of the harness for the alternator and temp switch.
Bulb good?
Also, check the short 3" ground wire between the light housing and hood support. I've seen a few corroded connectors there.

I believe the Socket assembly has a mercury switch built into it.(true)
If mercury has gotten out light will not work.(true)..and we all will die from mercury poisoning(not true)......
Just a possibility!

I don't know but there is power at the socket contact point. I would think the bulb would light. My tester lights. I bought another bulb at Napa. Like a dummy left it at work.
