Default 74 lid seal problem?

I bought a 74 rubber lid seal for my vert. When a lay it around the edge dry it is about 8" short. Is this how it should be? Should I have to stretch it? Somewhere I read that I should heat it when I go to install it around the corners so it doesn't buckle. Can someone help? thank you in advance for your input. Joe

Joe-

It think you are talking about the deck lid weatherstrip and if so.... no, you should not have to stretch it 8" to fit.

Yes that is what I am taking about. Should I heat it to go around the edge? It seems to buckle. Thank you for your help. Joe

Purchase the AIM; it shows the factory installation of the decklid weatherstripping.
