Seat Removal
I haven't even looked yet but since today I just decided to replace the interior carpet and install a heat shield to cut down the cockpit heat I realized I have to remove the seats as well.. Is this a no brainer.. Anything to be aware of before removing? Anything to go..ping and bounce away as I pull out the seats.. Anything else to think about replacing while I'm in there?

Get under the car and remove four nuts per seat and you're done, unless you have electric seats, then you have to disconnect electrical connector.
Bet you find a lot of crud and maybe some coins after you pull the seats out.
Suggest you check seat frames to see that all welds are still good, and clean and lubricate seat track.

What Steve said. I just pulled the seats out of my '79. 4 bolts from the top in each seat. Slide the seat forward and get the ones in the rear, slide it back and get the ones in the front.
