So, last year before putting my '81 away for the winter, the driver side rubber 'coating' slipped off the t-top latch/lever, and disappeared silently into the garage, where it was undoubtedly swept up and disposed of by someone other than myself. This weekend I go to slip in and start it up, forgetting of course that the lever was down (I forgot to latch it after putting it on last ) ......needless to say I was a bit startled by the sound of the skin on my upper right arm being torn open by the edge of the handle, and maybe the bit of blood that followed. Mmmyeah! I have a sweet new tattoo
Now I am asking, has anyone replaced that bit of rubber, or cobbled up something sano? I hope noone else caught their arm on one, it truly sucks...
Oooooh yeaaahhh thanks!
I forgot about that stuff, my dad had it a long time ago.
Anyone use it for anything lately, looks like I'll probably go this route then.
I dipped the spark plug wire brackets on a set of stamped valve covers then painted them. Looked factory. The bead blasting had stripped the factory coating off.
