Default Remote power door locks-possible??

Is it possible to make my power door locks on my 78 to operate with a remote key pad like the new cars ?? If so do they make a kit for this or use one from a new car, how do the new ones work? is the siginal sent to a receiver on the accuator? input please, thanks Tom.

Easy, just buy an alarm with a key fob. If you don't have power door locks you can bolt universal actuators inside the door. I'll be doing this during the summer with a Viper alarm.

i installed a remote door lock kit, from jc whitney, a couple of years ago in our 79.
remote box is in the drivers kick panel, but had to run the wires all the way to the drivers side master lock switch in the door panel. to get it to work correctly.

The '82 C3 had them, I believe. They should adapt to your door hardware without too much problem. You will need to add some wiring.

If you don't want/need an alarm you can get just the keyless entry that hooks into your factory power locks:
