Top End Question
I have a stock 82 and the top end needs some work. If I want to replace the heads and cam first, then add headers and finally another intake (TPI, Holley TBI or bored Crossfire) later. What would you guys recommend? I want to do it failry cheaply, as the labor alone will be $1k plus for just the heads/cam. I was hoping I could find a cam/head combo that would give me some headroom. I am not looking to race the car, only to add a little spunk to an underpowered 80's engine. Thanks

If the engine still runs well, you might be better off selling a well-functioning '82 and buying a pre-1981 Corvette that needs engine work. The L-81 is not much of a "platform" to use for improving performance with add-on equipment. Yes, it can be done, but you will have to replace most of the engine components. It would be less expensive to remove the stock engine and drop in a suitable crate engine.
