I'm I doing this correctly? I have 3.90 rear gear ratio, and the new transmission has .68 O/D ratio. What I come up with is 2.56 final gear ratio (3.90x.68) . If this is correct, I'm very excited to drive it on the highway to see the difference :yesnod: .
If I did the math wrong, please correct me. Thanks
If my 4.11 richmond gears ever go out I'm going 3.90 just to drop a few hundred rpm out on the freeway. Either that or a 6 speed with 2 overdrive gears. :seeya
SmokedTires: If you want, I have an Excel spreadsheet I built where you put in your tranny gear ratios (1st up to 6th if you have them), your rear end ratio, your tire diameter, and your engine redline, and it calculates out what speed you're at at different rpm's in each gear, as well as what rpm you're at at different speeds in each gear. If you'd like, I'll e-mail it to you.
79MakoL82 Sure, send away! That sounds very  , :yesnod: . Thanks.
Rod I got the crossbar, I had to modify the tranny housing alittle for it to be able to clear & mount to the trans mount. As it starts to warm, I'll be wrenching some more on it. Still need to locate a welded to borrow to get the crossbar mounted to the frame. Let me know if any of you vette guys have anything scheduled for a weekend day, maybe I can get the Syracuse Corvette Club to cruise out there one day.
