Distributor wiring problem!!

Default Distributor wiring problem!!
Well i was working on my 1974 vette changing the points and condenser and i really messed up bad :o. AS i was pulling off the spark plug wires i didnt label them. So i finaly traced which wire goes to what cylinder but still dont know where they go on the distributor cap. Somebody please help me!!

Does that start at the very top of the gate thing? or does it start first one to the left of the gate?
