Well, other than the fact that most of the spring clips will become dislodged from the plastic socket base when you pull them....and some of the clips will fall into the hole in the speedo housing when you pull them out , removal is no problem at all.
You just have to use a small, thin tool to gently pry them out of the holes in the housing so that the above scenario doesn't play out for you. Once you get them out, do yourself a favor and pry the metal clip out of each socket, then put a couple of dabs of epoxy glue on the slits where the retaining clips attach and reinstall the clip (and let harden). You'll never have to worry about them coming apart again.

One thing or another, I've been in and out of the dash a few times. Every time I touched one of the stock instrument lights, I had to fish out the bulb and replace the metal ring. Well, no more. I bought some newer style sockets from NAPA and problem solved.
