Got to love overdrive
The T56 was more than I expected. It took a tremendous amount of work fitting it in and getting the clearances right. Putting in the LS1 style throwout bearing was fun along with all the hardware. It is an extremly tight fit using a Gen 1 SB and a T56 like this but it can be done. I am waiting now for the custom shifter plate to arrive and I have a C6 shifter **** and boot to go along with it. Should look pretty good on the interior when done. Yes I will post pics when it is all assembled.

your catching up to me now! Yup, today Gordon and I put the new engine in and it should be a screamer with around 530hp. You could not ask for a better friend...Thanks Gordon aka The Commish

Yes, I can only agree. Nothing beats a good overdrive.
You keep all the racing first gears and still get good milage on the highway.
I installed the T56 Viper tranny 3 summers ago , fitted perfect onto the old bellhousing with the old mechanical clutch and even had mechanical Speedo output.
6th is 1 : 0.5, so I changed the 3.70 rear to 4.11. 2000 RPM at 80 Miles.

I changed the supplied shifter against the original Vette chrome ball T-Handle shifter.
From inside, it all appears original.
BB with this is nearly perfect match.
Max speed I never tried. But it goes damm fast up to 160 MPH, where I stopped .
Happy birthday.
