Putting a higher HP BB in my 70 BB and want to make sure it gets fed properly. I've read enough here to know that replacing the factory hard fuel lines with the body on the frame is "challenging" and I'm not sure they'll flow enough fuel for the new motor and future nitrous.
I have the tools and experience to make my own AN hoses but haven't yet dropped the gas tank to see what's possible. Planning to use a billet mechanical fuel pump with 8AN inlet/outlet that comes preset at 7.5 psi so it runs without a regulator. Open to other ideas though if that one is bad, it's just a plan at this point and I haven't bought anything yet.
Any advice from those that have modified their fuel delivery to feed a bigger motor?
I'm building a 555 for my '70 right now. Installing a Holley Black electric fuel pump with bypass regulator. The factory 3/8" supply will now be the return and a new 1/2" line will be ran down the frame rail. Because I'm not trying to be NCRS correct with it, I will be using high pressure black fuel line. The spare tire carrier will be used to hide the pump, filter, and sump on the tank. I'm planning on using a stock fuel sending unit on the tank but connecting the return to what would normally be the factory output 3/8" line. Still laying it out but will have pictures on my build thread over in the C3 General forum section, "She's 40 Today, Getting a Heart Transplant" within the next couple of days.
Hope your project is as much fun as mine is. Trying to be road ready by Memorial Weekend.
