Insurance update

I've been searching for new insurance since I got our renewal, we've been with Allstate for over 8 years. The best rates I've found for home and Auto was with AAA-TX but they can't insure the classic car without putting everything into a higher rate???? The lady I spoke with referred me to State Farm for the Vette. I had already talked to State Farm on our other cars and their quote was higher than Allstate so I hadn't inquired on the Vette. So I called the State Farm Office I was reffered to and the agent told me that their classic car insurance has gone up 300-400% as of February 2002. She ran the numbers for me anyway. Based upon a 74 convertible, stated value $12,500, 2000 miles/year 250 deduct, full coverage, 25/50/25 liability - $540/6months After a huge increase, Allstate was still only $385 but used to be $210. So now, what to do? I want to change to AAA-TX but I'll lose coverage on the Vette. And Allstate will raise the Vette's premiums further if I drop the other cars and house.
Question, who else offers some type of stated value insurance and allows you to drive somewhere other than shows, parades etc.?
Oh yeah, the State Farm rep believed the increase on classic car insurance was nation wide. Anyone else with State Farm renewing in March or the upcoming months? And she said she has a 77 Vette and has the same problem . . .

Stated value $18k. 50/100/25 coverage. Comp + Coll. Uninsured/underinsured 50/100/25.
6 month premium $300.50
In TX you cannot get agreed value on a car that is driven to work. :(
This is in Collin county, TX (DFW area).
I have them for both the 78SA and 34 Ford. They even insured the 34 Ford with an agreed value at different stages of completion.

On a separate note, a buddy and I installed 220V in the garage this morning, all of my tools and compressor should be here mid week.
I've had Hagerty Ins. for a few years now...luckly I haven't had a claim :). Two years ago a friend that had Hagerty made a claim due to being keyed in a parking lot :mad. It took 11 days from the date of the damage claim until the Vette was repaired and out of the shop...which is very good service, seeing that it was in the shop 4 days. I have a link to Hagerty's on the links page of my website. :yesnod: I do recommend Hagerty's Ins.

For example, '01 ZO6 insurance - $1000 a year. MetLife - $1,000 EVERY SIX MONTHS!
Home insurance: $800 a year. All competitors: > $1200 a year!
If you're interested in getting a quote on auto insurance, go to https://www.libertyquotes.com/auto
If you're interested in getting a quote on home insurance, go to https://aphrodity.ssl.servingit.net/libertyhomequotes.com/
Note that getting both home and auto will get you a multi-policy discount.
If your insurance is less expensive, let us know and we'll go there!
An no my State Farm Insurance went down this year...Plus I also get the rebate checks as well
This was calling the 800 number listed on their website.
Over all very few restrictions. The big one is no driving to work. But then again the purpose of classic insurance is not to insure comuters. It is for a car collection. Their web site states "Vehicles insured on our program must be used on a limited basis consistent with the operation of something valuable, such as club functions, exhibitions, organized meets, tours, and limited pleasure driving."
Some varations can be the result of state regs. Hagerty advisertises no deductable, but here in Texas, due to state regs, they must have a deductable. So Tenn law may be affecting some of the "classic" requirements there.

It was the major reason I elected to just add the car to my normal auto policy through AIG. I might call them again tomorrow and ask once more.
Thanks

Hagarty's restrictions are not bad--and exactly how are they going to limit you to 3500 miles when you don't even have to declare your current milage on your car when you apply? I was told by their rep that they'd turn you down if you said you'd use it for pleasure more than 3500 miles a year--trick is, don't say it (though personally I drive quite a bit less that 3500 per year).
Be aware that ALL classic car insurance in Texas must carry a rider that says you use the car "primarily" for club activities, shows, parades and "other events of public interest." If you don't belong to a car club and attend their activities, you're taking a chance with this insurance.
Allstate just doubled my homeowner's insurance with -0- claims. I'm looking for a new insurance company.
