Is there a "How to" for 1982 radio and bezel replace?
I have a 1982 with an old Pioneer radio in it. I want to replace it with the original DELCO radio. I have to buy a new bezel and replace the old one because it has a rectangular cut-out for aftermarket radios.
The assembly instruction manual (AIM) will help. It's not a How-To but it has assembly diagrams of how the dash and center cluster were installed.
Caution: there are two hidden screws on the console trim plate at the bottom of the center cluster. The trim plate will not come off until you remove these screws.
1st.. Pull off the consol side panels
2nd...Take out the 4 visable screws in the trim plate
3rd....Unscrew the 2 ( one on each side) screws that connect the trim plate to the consol plate
4th... Romove the glovebox insert
5th ...gently pull the whole unit out till you can reach thru the glove box and disconect the wires
Reinstal is reverse of removal...
Now may I ask why you would want to put the old radio in?
The car is all original except for the radio which is a Pioneer.
I believe I need to replace the small gauge bezel since it has a rectangular cut-out and the DELCO radios slid into to the cut-outs for the face of the radio and the ***** separately.

Any help for that?
Yes...if a stock readio is what you want then you will need to order a new bezel from one of the vendors. once you have the old one out then just take it over to the bench and swap the guages and map light to the new one and reinstall.
