If one never pushes their car to the limit, never tries to straighten out a curvy country road or attempt a curve marked 30mph at 50 mph+, then 26-28psi is all you need. Your Vette will ride better. But I'll put out the challenge to try that 30mph curve at 50 with 26# in you tires and then do it again at 32#. You will feel a difference. You'll feel more in control at 32psi.
I did a test in a flat parking lot to see what gave optimal handling - a few pounds lower in the rear and 32 psi in the front (used a pyrometer to see across tire width temps). Then I went through a sweeper (fast) and almost went into the ditch coming out of the corner - switched to massive oversteer. Went back to 35 F&R and car is much more neutral. I have the FE3 setup. A bit harsh at 35# but much more linear. No problems with uneven tread wear.
