Alternator bracket question
Who has replaced the stock stamped alternator bracket with a cast or billet one on their sb motor. Summit list a part [ 420101 ] that looks suitable, but the footnote says it won t work the power steering using
v-belts. Does anyone know of a bracket that fits in the stock location?

I think all c3 are in the same location but my car is a 75.

[/QUOTE]On my '73 SB the alternator bracket attached to the LH exhaust manifold. To allow for tubular headers or 2.5" C2 headers, a different alternator bracket is required. The SB's of earlier years used a cast iron bracket that bolted in two places to the LH cylinder head in exactly the same place. I bought mine from Contemporary Corvette for around $20. The same belts, etc. work.
