1970 Plenum Door.
OK, I’ll try this question. Is the plenum door in the passengers’ kick panel supposed to be open or closed in the OFF and MAX A/C position, or, should it be open?

In MAX AC the lower door should be open and the upper (outside air intake ) door should be closed which then allows recirculation of the cooled cabin air back into the fan intake.

I haven't checked the upper door but the lower "kick panel" door is open when power is off or in MAX A/C. I checked it today because there was a lot of hot air coming from there with the system in the off position.

Sorry ... brain fart....Fred is correct the door "opens" in the MAX position,I think its actually called a "recirc" door in the manuals.
