what's wrong about having a discussion? Sometimes good technical stuff gets thrown out. Don't click if you don't want to see argument.
How do you think the corvette was designed. A bunch of engineers all got in a room and immediately agreed on everything because they didn't want any conflict? I'm really getting sick of all the whiners who can't stand any banter whatsoever.
If you want harmony there is a site run by a fat dude that wears wooden shoes you might like. They run that place with an iron fist.
True, but there's always a sign hanging in the design department that warns 'to begin production, first get rid of all the engineers'. I went through 31 years of seeing how true that really is.
Continually re-hashing the same old same old, gets well- old.

I just put in 1 qt synthetic, one qt diesel, 3 qts of various other oil...a can of eos and a can of break in additive.
I betting on the odds.
You forgot the Seafoam. STP, Lucas Top End Lubricant, and most importantly to sacrifice a goat while chanting 'owhatanassiam'. Don't forget the petrified voodoo chicken bones. Gotta wave and shake them extra hard now.
To add to the discussion, how bout Mobil 1 with Lucas Thick Oil? I use 20% (1.5 qrts) Lucas and the rest Mobil 1 5W30, Ive never had a oil pressure drop on hot race days, always well lubed up. Idk seems to work fine

probably ok for hot weather. you've created some pretty thick oil there. not good for cold weather or cold starts

Just to add to an on going issue. I like using Mobil VR1 20W50 non synthetic for engine break in. I also run it in my high perf circle track motor with no issues at all.
I agree, but look at it from this perspective: If a thread gets rehashed every so often the OP gets the benefit of new guys that may have something to add of value, but if he just searches and goes with that info, then he is relegated to that particular train of thought, maybe even someone who usually contributes was on vacation at that time. Also there are subtle changes in things like oil that might not be included in an old thread. For instance Shell Rotella changed thier formula a year or so ago, its not what it once was, so things change. So from my point of view, I peruse a thread for new information and move on if I find it repugnant. But if I feel like stirrin the pot I may jump in, depends on my mood. But I won't call a post on a topic like this beating a dead horse, because the technology is ever evolving, and new people with new ideas join everyday, did that make any sense at all??......... :O)

Except that there's a sticky at the top on this very subject...........
But all a "sticky" is , is a post that someone thought would clear everything up once and for all, and on some subjects it might (I doubt it). Actually sticky are very informative posts that can be helpful to most people, not the end all on any subject. IMO new ideas SHOULD be always welcome. And new ideas or new opinions are only created when someone asks a question, because there remains the possibly that a different perspective given by someone else may be something helpful. So I guess once a sticky is created that means no more discussion on that topic? OK....????...!!!???? I don't get it, especially since we all have the option to ignore anything here. I am just trying to understand...........I just hope the OP does not go away because he was razzed by just asking a question.

Well I hardly drive in the wintertime and my baby is in the garage where its always 75 degrees, even in the winter. I agree its very thick oil but i never lose pressure, even after the hardest and hottest track days. I do skip the Lucas in the winter tho I forgot to add that
