C3 GM front end part numbers
I'm restoring a 74 vette and lost the pics of each front end parts. The spindles are marked 108A and 108B. I can not find which is right or left. Would anyone know? Or, know where I could look up these part numbers? All the other parts like the caliper bracket and splash shield all where marked right and left. Also, the front lower control arm ball joints came with 2 hex head bolts and a hex head bolt with a large round head used as a stop which hold the replacement ball joint in place. Mine had one of these stop bolts but since I cant find the pics I had I am not sure if this bolt with the round head goes in the ball joint toward the front or rear of the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
RJM
The spindle doesn't have a right and left version. It's the same both sides. All the attached parts... steering arm, caliper mount, dust shield, etc, make it into a left or right.
I believe the numbers and letters you're seeing are mold identification.
I'm not sure about your 'third' bolt. My 71 lower control arms have a small bracket welded to the rear of the arm to act as a 'stop' for the steering arm.
Good Luck!

Alan
They look exactly the same so I assumed it didn't matter. My lower control arms both have this same bracket welded on. That's why I was suprised that it had this bolt stop as well. The balljoints were riveted on so they should be the originals.
Thanks again for your help.
