Default Custom intake lookin better.

I have both a car intake and a truck intake for my Lsx conversion.I will be playing with both of them,however the truck intake was ugly.
I have seen a few cleaned up and modded,so I had to do my own.
So far it's ready for paint.(Color undecided.)

They sit a lot lower "cleaned up."

The carbon fiber will stay and the rest gets painted.

Wow! Is that ever ugly in stock form! It looks WAY better now! Is that a piece of Di-Noc you used on it?

Great job!

It is just a carbon fiber veneer.I filled all of the holes with epoxy.
(Formed on the inside to keep the runners smooth.)

Actually I will be building a new one.The old one was a hinge system that had pins to pull the hood completely.The new one will eventually be a power set up.I will get pic's when I start on it.It's all off of the car till the motor is done.

Probably the best truck intake I've seen. Excellent work.

Great work. But, the red trim tape you put on the intake surprised me. Wouldn't it be cleaner to just use some matte-black tape?
{just an observation and an opinion...}

Yes,black would look cleaner but it still has to be painted.I'm still toyin with colors and the red tape is not gonna match anyway.I just put it on till it gets paint.(The outline pinstripe will be in paint too.)How ever it might still be a contrasting color.

Yes,they were designed for two different ranges.The truck is for torque and power down low the car will make more on top.I hope the turbo's will pick up on top.(Just something to compare!)The genIII trucks are performing well with turbos and of course the Lsx cars are performing well with turbos.I just want to see what works best.I will eventually go aftermarket on the intake unless I'm really impressed with one of them.

Here are a few pics to compare.
