Default Capacitor 801249 Question?

The wire broke apart from the capacitor and I was wondering if I could solder it to the capacitor and make it work again.
Now I have read the this capacitor controls the clicking noise from the radio when the brake lights go on. If I have an aftermarket radio installed, do I need this capacitor plugged in or can I just toss it?

Mine broke too. Everyone told me to toss it and move on. Searched for one for a year and found one on ebay. Installed it and found no difference in any noise supression. You dont need it.

You really don't need the capacitor. But, if you want to keep it "for looks", clean it up and put it back on. I would not suggest soldering it back together; just glue the wire back in with RTV. You don't want to have and electrical connection to it anyway...there's no risk of a "short" if it's not connected.
