I have a 1972 Coupe.
Can anyone tell me what GM used for the cement on the T-Tops? My assembly manual says its "cement-plastic seam", part # 3743852, symbol is 194 on page M97. Its the exploded view diagram of a T-Top. What would be the recomended product?
Thank you
Scott Marshall
Hi Scott
I believe that 194 is a gray 'clay' like sealer that was used lots of places on the birdcage trim where a water proof seal was needed on a screw or small part to stop leaks.
I'd think you could use the typical 3M strip seal. I believe the strip seal comes in gray too, not just black. You could use the black if you're careful about how much you use so it doesn't squeeze out where it can be seen

If you are referring to the actual fiberglas panel cement. I have used 3M's two part "Structural Adhesive", it works great, but you have to work fast. Set up time is like 10 to 15 mins.
Hi Sarge,
I was headed the same direction as you. Then 194 rang a bell from the past, and I looked it up. I then saw what Scott was asking about!
