Default 1968 327/300 engine. Please help!

Does anyone know the cam max lift for double hump 2.02 1.60 heads? They are factory 291s.

I don't know the max lift, but I installed a Crane Z 274-2 cam in mine. It has 473/486 lift and I have no problems. Runs well.

It depends on installed height and coil bind height of the valve spring, and, of course, which cam is used. Don't forget to check other clearances such as retainer to guide, retainer to rocker, and valve-to-piston at overlap, etc.

Thanks guys. I guess in order to run say a .501 lift cam, I would have to rebuild the heads. I went to Comp Cams and they had a section where you tell them what you have and they will email you what they think will work best.
