I used the stock sensor in my Trick Flow heads in my '69 350....should fit in stock location. Trick Flow recommends which plugs to use (along with the proper gaskets) in their instruction info. The plugs were AC FR3LS....that number is now p/n #41-629. This is the recommended starting point.

What are you using for an intake manifold? Is there a place near the thermostat housing to screw in a temp sensor?

There are reducers available to adapt the sensor thread to the size of the hole in the head. I believe it's 1/2" pipe to 3/8" pipe but I could be off.

The choices are to put it into an available opening in the intake manifold or tap the hole in the head to 1/2 npt.

Some have had luck turning down the threads to the smaller size.
