Default (1968) Will not start....weak spark

I have a 1968 327 and I just finished doing some engine updating. I installed a Holley 4160 carb, Edelbrock 21011 intake manifold, Accel super stock Ignition Coil, new plugs and wires and a Pertronix Ignitor II. I still need to hook the hose from the carb to the vac advance and another 2 hoses to the Intake Manifold Vacuum Fitting....

Here is the issue... I just got the finished getting the distributor installed and then the last thing I had to do was hook the electric choke up... which I did... I jumped it to the fuse panel. So we go to start the car to see how far off the distributor is and she wont start.. not even trying to start... just turning over and over. I took off the plug from the coil to the distributor and held a screw driver to see if I was even getting a spark... very little spark!!! I put it back on to make sure it was in correct... nothing again.... I took it off and check for spark again... very little again and a few sec pass and then I get zapped. Anyone want to take a guess at what I should look at? Thank you so very much!!!

Adam

Here are some photos to show the coil and wiring... Where do I hook the ground wire from the firewall? Was it on the manifold? Thank you

Where are you getting power for the coil and the Pertronix? Both need full battery voltage. If you're coming off the top of the ballast resistor, you're getting reduced voltage.

I ran a line from the fuse panel... I figured it out I had little gas in the tank .... my girl friend checked and told me that it had a little but when I looked a few hours later ... you could see the dry bottom with little gas let at all.

I ran into a few other issues that I am working on now... Thank you

Capth, If you are picking up power from the resistance wire at the fire wall the voltage will drop on that wire when it heats up.
