I am rebuilding a new to me 1968. I have the gauge cluster removed to repair some electrical issues and I have several connectors that I can not ID where they go. They are all part of the stock wiring harness.
Heavy brown wire/connector that is hot when the ignition is on. Left side of cluster opening. It is very short and looks like it would attach to the ignition switch but it doesnt.
Connector with pink and green wires.
Heavy black wire most likely ground that was cut off.
my guess is the brown had a capacitor plugged into it...for noise suppresion of the radio... the pink wire connector looks like a flasher maybe, for the 4 way...
pink and green should be the back up light wires. the wiring harness that's in my 72 project (unknown year) has two pink and greens with different connectors, but electrically are the same.

The heavy black should be a ground. You should have a black female that attaches to a spade on the speedo and another black female that attaches to the tach and another black but with a round connector that I believe ( not 100%) screws to the frame that the round black wiper **** switch is mounted in. Then a brown/white strip wire attaches to the switch. Some 68 guys should be able to help with that.

Ground wire comment....interesteing becasue I found earlier that my wiper were not working because the wiper **** that sits between the two manual vaccum lines was not grounded.

See if you have both blacks going to the tach and speedo, if you do that black might be the one that grounds the wiper **** switch.
