I just purchased a new headlight switch for my '71 coupe because the previous one would operate the headlights but not the dash. I installed the vacuum lines per my AIM - it had the shorter blue-striped one on the port closest to the driver and the unmarked one on the port closest to the firewall. Before I start undoing things, can anyone verify the proper connections?

Jerry , the color marking on the hoses is not always the best thing to go by.
With the engine running find the hose with vacuum , that hose must go on the port closest to the ****.
This is the case on all of the valves , headlight , pulldowns and the safety switch under the right wiper arm.
Hi,
The diagram in the 71 AIM is incorrect.
The blue striped hose goes on the front port (towards the front of the car with the switch installed) and the unmarked hose goes on the rear port.

Alan
