Hi there, yup thats my vette. I got the wheels here http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/default.asp
and they provided the centre caps as well. As said earlier the fronts are 18 x 8" and have the stock backspace of 4 1/4" the rears are 9 1/2" with 5" backspace, I had to relocate the parking brake cable to the top of the trailing arm for this. Here are a couple of better photo's

I guess I'm in the minority. I like the 15x8 WS6 snowflake wheels on the TA (not gold). I have had a set on my 1972 Formula 455 for 25 years now. I keep planning to change to Rally II, but not because I don't like the snowflakes, it is just the only non-stock part visible on the car.
I am not against the snowflakes at all. My first car was a 76 Trans Am w/ the honeycomb wheels and I swapped them out for some of the snowflakes with the trim ring. I loved those on that car. Just not a big fan of them on a C3. The good thing is we live in a free country, last time I checked, and each person can do their own thing on their car, house etc.
The Pontiac style wheels are just too 'busy for my tastes...the Red Vette coupe shows me a class act wheel with the custom aluminum rally 18`s including the uneven widths.......

The Pontiac Snowflake wheels are just about the ugliest things ever produced by GM, and came about as a cost reduction measure by Pontiac:
The original "Honeycomb" wheels offered as an option in the early 70's were actually not a Pontiac design, and Pontiac had to pay a royalty on every wheel sold. In order to side-step the patent rights and royalty payments, Pontiac came up with an altered design that ended up being designated as the "Snowflake" wheel - a horrible design intended to mimmick the successful Honeycomb but skirt the patent and royalty fees. So not only is the wheel pure ugly, but it's the result of screwing somebody out of their design and patent rights.
All Snowflake wheels should be melted down and turned into Corvette pistons and heads. If you put Snowflake wheels on your Vette, your Vette should be flipped upside-down and turned into a planter.
My dad ran an original set of 15X8 on his 65 vette back in the 80's. In fact, they are currently on the car while it sits awaiting an restoration. He repainted the centers red to match the car.
Do you have any pictures of your dad's Corvette with the snowflake wheels on it?
Thanks Larry...
