Ok, I ordered a curve kit for my L48. After taking off the springs and the weights, I found the center plate was missing one of the "e clamps". the side missing the clamp moved freely on the little shaft the e clamp goes on, but the other side was where I removed the e clamp was stuck. I used some penetrating oil and let it soak, then tried to budge it with a screwdriver.... it snapped off at the base.....
So, no I'm just thinking I want to replace the whole distributor rather than try to rebuild this one.... so I am looking for a suggestion as to which one to buy...
I have just added headers, just rebuilt the carb and jetted it for a little more fuel, new high voltage spark plug wires, etc. I bought the curve kit and a high performance ignition coil (which won't work according to the box it came in).
I plan to do heads and a cam next year, only looking to build around a 300 hp motor. I was looking to increase/ramp up the timing advance with the curve kit.
Any suggestions on which distributor/coil to get? Car is a weekend driver only...

I would stick with an HEI, you should be able to pick one up from the local auto parts store for around $100 or you can order one off eBay for around $58.
