Getting my dual fans hooked up where should I install temp sensor , heads above the headers or intake? Thanks :)

I would go with the head. It heats up first.

I have the Flex a Lite Dual Fans, it came with an ajustable temp sensor that is placed in the upper rad hose " Works Great". In your case it really doesn't matter I would install it as close as possible to the termostat.

I've not heard of that type of sensor in the rad hose , sounds interesting. I think I'll install in the head , I don't like it sticking straight up in the air at the front of intake anyways! Thanks Todd.

Mount it in the head, that's where the water is the hottest. Use the unused temp sender hole in the other head, which should have a plug in it. The only problem may be the size. Some heads have 3/8-NPT, some have 1/2-NPT, so you might have to use an adapter, if the hole is 1/2 and the sender is 3/8, or tap the head for the reverse situation. I drilled and retapped for a larger hole while I had the heads off.

I installed mine in the intake. If the temp setting is adjustable, it doesn't matter which gets hotter as you can tune it for the location.

you should actually mount it in the radiator, as that is what you are really trying to control. the thermostat controls the engine. in cool weather, mounting in the engine will cause it to run more then it has to; also when the engine shut off, it'll run longer.

That makes no sense to me. Also, I think I would prefer to have the fans not running after I shut off the car. I see no point in cooling radiator water when it is not circulating thru the engine....

I havwe one of those "in the rad hose" sensors. It isn't hookek up right now so I can take pics if anyone wants.

Having the fan run after the car is off DOES circulate coolant therough the engine. As you cool the coolant with the fan, the density of it changes and it does circulate through the engine to an extent because of it. Plus you have a fan blowing cool air over the engine helping to cool it off as well. Aside from some battery drain for a few minutes, there really aren't any negatives to it.
