looking for recomendations on shocks for my 76

If you aren't looking for a 'super' suspension and don't want to spend the big buck$, buy some inexpensive gas shocks and stick on it. Bilstein 'Heavy Duty' shocks are best for normal driving; get 'Sports' if you like taking fast turns.

Bilsteins on my 76

I sprung for the extra cost and got Heavy Duty Bilsteins for my 76.

They ride smooth and handle well. To tell the truth, and my wife agrees, the 76 with Bilsteins rides better than the C4 93 I used to own.

I really like my KYB G2 shocks. I've had them on for 5 years and drive the 80 frequently. They perform good, and I still have all the fillings in my teeth.

I have had the OEM AC Delcos, KYB Gas A Just, Koni's, and Bilstein's HD's front and Sports rear with a 360 composite spring. Bilstein's by FAR are superior for handling and ride! They are worth every penny! I would reserve KYB's (Gas A Just and GR2's) for your every day sedan, truck, or SUV). I have the KYB GR2's on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix and they are acceptable, not great-will probably replace with Koni adjustables on the GP since Bilsteins are not available, last I looked.
