Power Steering Fluid
Hello,
I'm going to rebuild my power steering valve on my '81.
I have read a topic about the use of ATF fluid,someone have wrote it's not a good thing to use it for premature wearing of the gasket.
For me it's to hard buy in the states the fluid,no shipping by air.
Maybe I found in Europe Royal purple oil(I'm just asking for the shippping).
Another/alternative good brand?
Wht type of oil do you use in your sistem?
If some european owner can help me I will appreciate.

you can use 'safely' automatic transmission fluid in you PS reservoir....
this was discussed at some length within the past week right here on the forum where a few thought otherwise but were incorrect....

atf works. i like the gm 'cold climate' power steering fluid. gm recomends this fluid in all previous years now because of its properties. but being in italy gm fluid mite be hard to come buy. sure you can get dex 3 compatible fluid somewere there?

Today I'm really luky,I have found a dealer with GM power steering fluid.
I take 2 quarter bottle.
I hope the rebuild will go in the right Way.
