My experance with side pipes
Ordered my set from Custom image Corvettes on 1/13/2011, they arrived on the 18th.
Parts do look really good for the money.
After close inspection I contacted Josh. 1. Could not see thru both side pipes, one had 60% visual blockage. 2. Unable to get a bolt any longer than 1/2 inch into cyl # 1's inside hole. 3. There was an additional weld 1'' from the flange on cyl # 7 . According to Josh answer to #1. that's strange. 2. that's fine all you need is 3 threads, that's the strongest part of the bolt. 3. Yes we had to make a little change.
Instead of sending items back I decided I would be better off trying to modify rather than shipping back.
after installing. had to mod for clearance for idler arm, #2 spark plug.
driverside tubes low and far from frame. Passenger side high and close to frame. niether side ran paralell with the car. Brackets on side pipes 3'' off from frame holes, unless you only wanted to slide tubes halfway on the headers. After modifying further I suceeded in getting them to look fine for the average person. Definetly not for show but with all that said I saved a grand over Hookers. Maybe I recieved a set of proto types? Ps I was fortunate to have tools and skills to mod, been installing headers for well over 30 yr's
