I have a 77 corvette with a automatic th350transmission .Trans has been rebulit with a shift kit added and a 2500 stall convertor. My ? is is how many times should it shift.
From a dead stop it shifts 2 times once at about 15mph and again at 25mph not sure at mph due to speedo may be not correct. Also I can not get my passing gear to work. I did the adjusting on cable with throttle wide open and pull tv cable out all the way out and connected it.The motor is is 383 with holley 750 vac.The transmission shifts great no slipping .
Thanks
Gary

Reason: meant kickdown cable
Trans is a 3 speed, will shift twice. Try adjusting the cable by holding carb at wot only and then push down on lock. No need to pull cable all the way out.
2 shifts- 1-2 at about 15-20, then 2-3 about 25-30. Rough guess, shifts depend on road speed and engine vacuum. Adjust the detent cable (for a start), so that it starts to pull on the cable about 1/2 throttle. As the throttle opens, the cable moves the detent shift valve and forces the 3-2 downshift.
I will try adjusting cable .No cable is not drooping as a matter of fact
it seem to downshift harder when cable droop not sure thats the right word use. Felt downshift more.
