Default What size screws?

What size are the screws that hold the center alignment plate plastic covers on the t-tops?

I've got a 78 with glass tops. The plastic covers over the center alignment plates are missing the screws that hold them on. They look like a countersunk screw possibly metric. Just would like to know what I need to look for at the hardware store. Thanks.

Hi MF,
Still no help. I'm pretty lost after 1972.
This will get you to the top for some new looks!

Alan

Get the AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual) for your car. All parts are described, or spec'd. Best guess right now is that you won't find anything like those screws at a hardware store. If you can get the spec on them, they may be available from specialty fastener supplier McMaster Carr. If they are not a common usage type screw, getting them new or used from a Corvette Supplier will be your best bet. 53-82 Parts manuals are at this link. http://www.corvettec3.ca/partsman.htm a picture or two of the parts you are talking about might help in identifying the screws you are looking for.

I looked in the Paragon Catalog, and they have the screws in a kit. The kit is a bit expensive if all you need is those screws ($24 kit repairs one top).
