Is there a trick to installing the slide seal on the emergency brake handle & hooking up power window switches on the console on a '73?

Thanx for any help !

Well, if it doesn't have a small 'slice' through the left side, centered and adjacent to the slot for the lever, you had better put one there. Otherwise, it will be really hard to assemble it.

the replacement slide seals can be brittle if the channel isn't allowing it to slide freely.

I would buy 2- 3 as they are pretty cheap AND warm them up in hot water so they can be moved around.

GENTLY test the parking brake handle Slowly to make sure it isn't binding, especially as you release the brake handle. They sometimes get stuck under the shifter console and then you are taking the whole thing apart again.

Slider and switches will only install one way. PW harness simply plugs into the base of the switches.

It helps to have the e-brake console out for both.

Hi,
I believe that if the slice is done with a very sharp blade and done in the "low" part of the ribbed pattern, the cut really can't be seen once the slide is back in the track.
Good Luck!

Alan
