Default '76 window switch orientation

Forgot to mark the window switches when I took them out of the console; (doing a restoration) Don't know which way they go back in; (can't tell by the wiring, that has been moved around). Could use a little help! Thanks

Forward is up, pull back for down. You can plug in the wire and test before you bolt it in.

Hmmm. I think mine work the reverse of that: forward for 'down', back for 'up'.

In any case, the wiring is pretty stiff and the sockets have a non-symetrical contact pattern. So, I think you can only assemble them [easily] in one way for the pins to fit without twisting up the wiring.

I agree.
The switches are the same - no left or right. The connectors on the PW wiring harness ARE left and right.

The AIM diagram helps a little. Plug a switch up and test it. Mark the harness for left and right.
