If the bolts and nuts are in good condition, and haven't been compromised by lot's of rust deterioration, I'd say the originals can be reused.

lock nuts?
I cleaned the bolt threads with a power wire brush and the nuts are still hard to turn, only going a few threads by hand. Are these self locking nuts used to bolt the box to the frame or do I need replacement nuts?

Hi dj,
I just took a look at my originals and the nuts seem to be ordinary fine threaded nuts. There is the usual split lock washer too which makes me think the nuts were nothing special.
I'd think you should be able to thread the nuts on the bolts with just normal fingers.
