Default Frame reinforcing

Have a 77 that I am putting a new crate motor in. The original motor is a L48, 180 HP. Crate is a SB 383 stroker, pushing 400 HP. Do I need to add some supports to stiffen the frame so I don't twist it w/ the new HP. I have been told Jegs or Summit sells a kit of some kind. Do I need it?
2nd question, the 77 has AC which I really don't need & could use the extra room under the hood. Can I just take it out & do the make a plate / cover? Thanks in advance for your help & suggestions!

Besides the bumper mounts you have the same frame as the early big block cars. No, you don't need to do any frame mods.

Frae is fine the way it is. I have seen 800+ HP run with a stock frame. You will be fine.

No. You can follow the suggestions in the previous posted link if you feel like strengthening the frame, but it is not required.

A/C ? yank it! Remove and change the blower box.
