69 Headlight Wiring Harness Removal

G'day Everyone,
Just wanted to know how you remove the front wiring harness plug from the back of the fuse block of a 69 vette. I have been trying to pull mine straight off from inside the engine bay, is this correct or do I need to remove the fuse block form inside the cabin and then prise it off?

I believe there's a bolt in the middle of it that you need to loosen.

No need to do anything on the inside.

If I remember right it will take a 3/8" socket to loosen the bolt.
I believe the bolt is retained in the plug so it will come off with the plug.
The plug is 2 pieces and they interlock so you have to pull both off to separate the headlight harness.

Hi,
In addition to the bolt there's often a good bit of black water-proof sealant on the plug connection that needs to be loosened too.
