Well it only took 6 more man hours to put it together. about 3 hours of grinding @ .030 clearance on the pan rails and bottom of the outboard bottom of the cylinders. Pressure wash the block and crank. Clean all the passages with a sonic testing of the water jacket thickness. Then put the short block together.
It will be nice when done
Heads are yet to be determined. I would like something like Dart 18 degree with 2.15/1.60 with 340 ish cfm intake with .700 lift. Lots of sprint car race teams have old refurbished heads left over from last season. So I'm hoping for a good buy

Hey Gkull, if you got enough spare parts laying around, will you build me a big inch small block. 396 or 427 cause I always wanted a 396 or 427 Vette when I was a kid. 350 was all that was available when I bought in 1979. I already have 65cc AFR heads. An aluminum block would really make my dreams come true. I'll come pick it up. Gotta sell an arm and leg first. You coming out this way on March 19th?

I bet with the a Manley rods your going to have to run a smaller base circle cam!!
Never used an shp block. For reference, would a 4" crank clear your cam?
BLOCKMAN offered to drop ship correct stroker Callies rods for $525 or so (good for up to 750 hp). He also sells the ready to go Dart blocks. If anybody is thinking about doing a motor project I would advise PMing him first.
