I have stock looking after market 1969 sidepipes with the fiberglass covers. Is there some kind of paint that will make it look close to the original sidepipes in 1969. I've spoken to a couple of vendors who sell the sidepipes and covers and thy don't have any paint for it. I don't want to paint it the same color as the car.
The original covers are not painted, rather they are chrome plated. I think this is why you are having trouble locating the paint. Your best bet would be to try some of the chrome paints on the market and see what comes closest.
Hi va,
Eastwood has a paint called 'Almost Chrome', it's about as 'chromey' as any paint I've seen. 25292Z 13 oz. spray can.
The grooves in the center section were dark gray metallic. Some people think semi-gloss black is a pretty good look too.
Regards,
Alan

Depending on how much you want to spend there are several 'metalizing' paint systems available that are professionally installed.
