Hey guys, this may sound like a dunb question to some but...
My 350 seems like it's alot weaker latly, and it seems alot quieter for some reason.
A buddy of mine said he thinks he can hear a skip in my engine, it is a little puff type of minor backfire coming from the rumble of the sidepipes.
About every rotation or so a little pff would come out of both pipes.
Is this normal or so I have 2 cyclinders skipping ?
Is there a way to check this other then going up a hill in fourth and bogging the engine down ?
I do have access to a dyno but would rather not if I can do this in my garage.
as always info is much appreciated
Thanks guys
Might be time for a good old fasioned tune up. Plugs, wires , cap, oil change...ect. Some times they need a little pampering. Things sometimes get better and you never really know why.
Just something to keep in mind in case you don't get anywhere with the cap and rotor (which is the first thing I would do, too). I had a problem similar to what you are describing - lived with it for a long time thinking I would fix everything when I dug into the motor. Got the motor done (head work, valves, springs, cam, etc. and - same problem!!! Then I replaced the distributor - all problems solved. Just an FYI in case you can't figure it out with a normal tune-up. :)
