OK, I have a 1970 Q-jet #7040202 mounted on a 1971 intake manifold from a base 350. I just replaced the carb to manifold gasket and after about a 30 minute drive the car stalled in the driveway and I had fuel leaking all over the manifold. I could also hear the fuel in the carb hissing and I guess boiling.
Question #1 – Is my carb compatible with the manifold?
Question #2 – Why does the assembly manual show a 4 hole gasket installed between the carb and the manifold, but every mail order parts store shows a gasket with one large hole?
