Default seat angle

just finished installing '79+ seats in my '78. Any ideas on how to adjust the seat angle? It seems like it is sitting too far back on the rear support of the seat. The frames are new, so no cracks. Can I shim the rear tracks up?

Yes, you could. But i would try to support as much of the slide track as practical and then just use longer bolts at the back.

My 79 never seemed to have enough head room. So to lower my seat I pulled out the thick insulative lay under the carpet and put in the thinner flame proof sound isolation aluminum mat and short pile fire retardent carpet. I made custom flat iron stock mounts and bolted my seat directly to my floor.

They use to make shims for that purpose, so I think you can just shim the rear of the tracks to a point you like.

I raised mine 1/2" in back and it made up the angle difference I needed.

The stock '79 seat frame - driver side only - had a wedge spacer on the front of the track. Have you already removed that?
