You mentioned that you were vacuum bleeding the front brakes. Sometimes when vacuum bleeding you will suck air in through the bleeder screw threads so the bubbles might not be from the brake lines or calipers.

Also, the brake light comes on from a difference in pressure between the front brakes and the rear brakes, not left to right. You might try gravity bleeding. A lot of people have had success that way.
